Amaryllis ‘Exotic Star’

Pale green flowers with fine, deep raspberry red stripes give Hippeastrum ‘Exotic Star’ an exquisite, orchid-like appearance. Blooming for weeks and months during the darkest days of winter, Amaryllis (or to be botanically accurate, Hippeastrum), is a tender bulb from Central and South America which is commonly grown as a houseplant in the UK. Unrivalled for its season defying exuberance, we cannot think of a better way to keep the winter gloom at bay!  

Amaryllis ‘Exotic Star’ bulbs can generally be expected to produce two stems, each bearing 4-6 flowers. While impressive enough on their own, three grown together in a pot is simply breath-taking! Place your Amaryllis ‘Exotic Star’ bulb in bright, filtered light; perhaps on a table slightly set back from a window, or on a windowsill with sun in the morning or afternoon (but not during the middle of the day). Turn the pot regularly to prevent the flower stalk bending towards the light.
