This particular Persian lily hybrid is unlike any of the other varieties. Fritillaria persica ‘Green Dreams’ flowering spikes have a subtle beauty: bells-shaped flowers of a soft green are flushed with purple-brown at their tops. Subtle it may be — but as a garden plant it gives real impact. Fritillaria persica ‘Green Dreams’ flowers early — late March and April — and, over time, plants build up into sizeable clumps. The exotic appearance is deceptive, as this fritillaria is robust and fully hardy, and remarkably easy to grow in any free-draining soil. The ancestors of this fritillaria originated in southern Turkey and for this reason it prefers a hot, sheltered site!
Once planted, leave the bulbs in the same position to establish for a few years. After this time, they may be lifted and divided to make more plants!
