This distinctive grape hyacinth produces a clustered cone of light powder blue flowers with a silvery sheen. Muscari ‘Valerie Finnis’ also have a subtle and delightful fragrance. These pale blue little beauties are robust, strong and compact, and densely flowering. They thrive in full sun or partial shade, along with well-drained soil.
Muscari are the perfect bulb for the front of borders, rockeries, pots or containers. And they are spectacular when allowed to naturalize under trees or along walkways—note that this variety won’t take over an area, like many forms of muscari. The hardy Muscari ‘Valerie Finnis’ is tolerant of most climates, and will make a real show of colour during spring, especially when planted close to dwarf narcissus.Â
The flowers of Muscari ‘Valerie Finnis’ are accompanied by the plant’s narrow, strap-like dark green foliage. Incidentally, if you live in a rural location, where rabbits or deer are a problem, these muscari will be most at home, as the pests leave them alone!
