Truly a giant of the spring garden, this amazing daffodil is sure to be a talking point with your visitors. An imposing plant, early to mid-season Narcissus ‘Dinnerplate’ has broad, creamy white outer petals (known as perianth segments), and a very large bright yellow centre (or corona) with crimped and crinkled edges which fold back flat to cover most of the flower. The effect is similar to that of a fried egg, sunny side-up! ‘The blooms are so large and impressive—you can easily see why the name ‘Dinnerplate’ was given to this daffodil!Â
Large cupped Narcissus ‘Dinnerplate’ is a superb daffodil, and recommended for cutting and bringing indoors. The strong stems are sturdy enough to support the large heads—they will not droop or fall over. It has a luscious, sweet fragrance, too. Narcissus ‘Dinnerplate’ is so highly regarded, the Royal Horticultural Society has awarded it the coveted Award of Garden Merit.
