As the papery, primrose yellow cups of Narcissus ‘Julia Jane’ raise their faces to the sun, you can be sure that spring is just around the corner. This vivacious variety has foliage that is slender, dark green and needle-like, to even better accentuate those charming, cartoonishly oversized trumpets.
Perfect for pots, we think it would pair beautifully with the deep purple of crocuses, Chionodoxa and/or Iris reticula, for delicate late winter charm. Narcissus ‘Julia Jane’ is a type of Narcissus romieuxii, native to the Atlas mountains of North Africa, so would do fantastically well in alpine displays or wildflower meadows.
When your Narcissus romieuxii ‘Julia Jane’ bulbs arrive expect them to be significantly smaller than the more common-or-garden Narcissus varieties, but as they always say, good things come in small packages and we’re certain you won’t be disappointed with the delicate creamy yellow beauty of this unusual variety, also aptly called the petticoat daffodil!
