Daffodil hunters are always looking for the unusual, and Narcissus ‘Snowtip’ ticks so many boxes. Bred by legendary Dutch daffodil breeder Karel van der Veek, this gorgeous early to mid-season large cup narcissus is so-named because of the snowy white flecks that appear at the edges of, and amongst, the deeply jagged lemon-yellow cups. These decorative cups protrude from the beautiful pale yellow-green petals (or perianth segments). The whole effect is stunning. Its foliage is grey-green, and up to 50cm in length. Â
Large-cupped Narcissus ‘Snowtip’ is wonderful when planted in borders, flowerbeds, patio containers and—at just 35-45 cm tall—even strategically placed on rockeries. Bright spring colour and long-lasting care-free blooms—Narcissus ‘Snowtip’ offers it all. And, in case you need yet another reason to introduce this wonderful daffodil to your garden, it’s highly fragrant, as well! Consider planting this variety with early- and late-season cultivars to fully extend your daffodil season.
