Cottage-garden cutie Peony ‘Cora Louise’ is just the ultimate light and fluffy border perennial to add to a relaxed, informal style. With silky ruffled petals and a doe-eyed mauve-tinged centre, it’s hard not to adore the prolific and alluring nature of this total softie. Despite her cottage-garden charm, you’ll find that intersectional (Itoh) Peony ‘Cora Louise’ sits very well within any style. So you don’t have to have extensive grounds and wide herbaceous borders to enjoy its charm, it’s perfectly versatile and looks just as good in a contemporary container too!
This stunning itoh peony produces very large, pure white, semi-double flowers, opening to reveal mauve flushes on the petals, all surrounding a cluster of gold stamens. You could easily have as many as 50 flowers on a mature plant, and they are held well above the leaves on strong, upright stems.
Peony ‘Cora Louise’ will flower for several weeks, thanks to a regular supply of side buds which open, one after the other. And, this plant will not need staking. It’s a mid-season variety, meaning that it will flower in late spring and early summer. Also, as if all this is not enough, the flowers are delicately fragrant.
