With its raucous pink and orange colouring and showy frilled petals, Tulip ‘Amazing Parrot’ is perfect for injecting colour and energy into the late spring garden. For a truly showstopping display, we love growing it in partnership with other parrot tulips, particularly the contrasting deep violet Tulip ‘Power Parrot’. Thanks to the strong stem, the flower is able to stand tall and proud in the garden. Tulip ‘Amazing Parrot’ is the perfect choice for adding a touch of exotic beauty to your garden.
Plant your Tulip ‘Amazing Parrot’ bulbs late (ideally in November or December) as a means of protecting them against tulip fire disease, which is present during the warmer months. Find a sunny, well-draining spot and plant pointy side up and about twice the depth of the bulb. Tulip bulbs are best planted about 8cm apart, and if you are short on space, you can layer them up (they will happily grow around each other). Simply go a little deeper, cover with 5cm of soil, and plant another on top. This can be a great way of squeezing the most colour possible into a smaller space.  Â
