There is nothing dull or even vaguely ominous about this black bird building its nest in your garden. The Tulip ‘Black Parrot’ gives you a strong display of fragrant maroon to purple flowers, flamed and edged with black. The extra-large petals of their striking blooms have the parrot tulips’ characteristic fringed and feathery look about their wavy edges, making them look like the plumage of an exotic bird as they emerge from the green bud.
Striking on their own, these dark-bloomed tulips would also provide good companions to lighter-coloured late-blooming tulips. They are also excellent for providing a dramatic dimension to an arrangement of cut flowers.
