Beautiful and long-lasting, Tulip ‘Brisbane’ will delight you when in full flower—the richness of the blooms bring to mind the lusciousness of peonies. Tulip ‘Brisbane’ is a fabulous compact, double flowering variety, producing stunning orange, peach, pink and light yellow, cup-shaped, ruffled flowers. Each petal has a finely fringed edge. The leaves are broad, lance-shaped and a beautiful blue-green. Relatively new, and rarely seen for sale, it is a tulip to savour.   Â
Blooming from mid- to late spring, double Tulip ‘Brisbane’ produces a long stem, and looks spectacular in a vase. It grows equally well in borders or in patio containers; it will do best in full sun, but try to avoid growing it in a windy spot. Try planting it with white, maroon or purple tulips, for a beautiful contrasting display.   Â
A symbol of spring, tulips are a must-have garden plant. There are currently more than 3,000 registered varieties and, in our view, Tulip ‘Brisbane’ is one of the best. It is in the Tulip Group 7 (Fringed).
