Tulip ‘Eyelash’ is a new cultivar, with wonderfully large blooms in the classic tulip shape. The flowers are an amazing two-tone combination of soft white plus a pronounced purple-pink fringe on the upper section of each petal. And, of course, the fringed effect really does make the tulip look like it has eyelashes! It is one of the prettiest and certainly most exotic-looking tulips we have seen. You could say that Tulip ‘Eyelash’ is eye-catching! It’s a gorgeous new introduction from the nursery of Jan Pennings—in Breezand, the Netherlands—famous for its tulips, so we know this is going to be a winner.Â
Tulip ‘Eyelash’ flowers over several weeks in April and May. Don’t forget, also, that it makes an excellent cut flower; its sturdy 55cm stems giving support and height, as well as long-lasting beauty indoors. Tulip ‘Eyelash’ is in the tulip Division 7, known as the Fringed Group.
